It is a freshwater loch, roughly 750 feet deep. It contains more freshwater than all the lakes in England and Wales combined. Although Loch Lomond, also in Scotland, is bigger with regards to total area of water, due to Loch Ness' great depth, it is the biggest in terms of volume.
