Mac's India

ebook

It was 1930 and Mac had finally secured her Ph.D. post with the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine. For the next 3 years, she intended to travel the length and breadth of India working for the Women's Medical Service and researching the effects of tropical diseases on mother and infant mortality. Her aim, to improve the plight of the indigenous female population of India, which was long overdue.

To achieve her goal, Mac faced life-threatening action in the Hindu Kush, battles with the Delhi Police, unsolicited sexual advances from male colleagues and a concerted effort by her peers to undermine her progress. As for her private life, the least said about that the better!

Mac knew that making waves was all very well, but staying afloat was not guaranteed. Would she stay afloat? Only time would tell . . .
