'কাবার পথের যাত্রী (প্রথম খণ্ড)' বইটি মূলত একটি ভ্রমণকাহিনীর পটভূমি। লেখক শাহ্ মোস্তফা খালেদ ব্যক্তিগত অভিজ্ঞতার বর্ণনা করেছেন এই বইতে। হজ বা ওমরাহ করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে এই বই।

হজ ও ওমরার নিয়মকানুন বিষয়ক বই-পুস্তক, প্রশিক্ষণ, ও ইন্টারনেটে লভ্য নানা উপকরণের কথা লিখেছেন খালেদ। লিখেছেন আরবি ভাষা শেখা ও কোরআনের পৌনঃপুনিক পাঠ ও উপলব্ধির গুরুত্ব নিয়ে। তার বাইরে মূলত জোর দিয়েছেন মনস্তাত্ত্বিক প্রস্তুতির দিকে। সে প্রস্তুতির অংশ হিসেবে হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.), ইবরাহীম (আ.), ইসমাইল (আ.), হাজেরা, ও হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.)-এর সাহাবিদের জীবনী পাঠ ও উপলব্ধির উপর গুরুত্ব দিয়েছেন, বিস্তারিত পাঠতালিকা যুক্ত করেছেন লেখার সাথে।
এসবের পাশাপাশি রমজান মাসে ওমরাহ করা, ওমরাহের আনুসাঙ্গিক খরচ, ভিসা, এজেন্টের সাথে যোগাযোগ করার জটিলতাসহ অন্যান্য যাত্রা প্রস্তুতির আলোচনা এসেছে বইটিতে।
'কাবার পথের যাত্রী' বইটি পড়ে ওমরা যাত্রার আগ্রহ তৈরি হতে পারে। এর জন্য প্রকৃতই দীর্ঘ প্রস্তুতির প্রয়োজন। প্রয়োজন মনকে প্রস্তুত করা। প্রয়োজন আল্লাহর কাছে প্রার্থনার – যেন তিনি পথনির্দেশ, শক্তি ও সামর্থ দেন।
Quite a good number of Muslims perform umrah every year. However, few people write their experiences after performing this ritual. This is clear from the number of varied books available on this subject authored by different writers. The accessible books in Bengali mostly are also not written in cogent and lucid language that can attract readers.
Shah Mostafa Khaled's book 'Kabar Pother Jatri - Part One' chiefly discussed the need for preparation for performing umrah in terms of reading Islamic literature, exchanging views with people who have performed umrah, and attending study courses on umrah before making an attempt to perform this ritual. The language used by the author in the book is simple, clear, and eloquent that would attract people of all categories. The added attraction of the book is its annexure which mentions the major and outstanding books on the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) and the Kaaba, the House of Allah, both in Bengali and English, that the author had access to. Hopefully, this book will inspire people to perform umrah.
